After a bit of waiting in Slough yesterday for Herman and the guys at RCS900 Toyota to put the new shoes on Velma, ‘MeriKate and I headed home in a sweet little convoy. Kate drove her Prius, Daphne, and I drove Velma. Apart from the rather horrid amounts of traffic on the road thanks to the impending rush-hour we got home without incident. Kate managed 61.2 mpg on her car and Velma managed a pleasing 62.4. I won… Ha
Sorry, but y’see, I’m quite competitive and I also have a touch of new gadget syndrome mixed with an intense desire to show my new car off. Oh, and a pathologicaly driven need to convert Velma to a plug-in.
While Velma doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of her younger sister, she does seem to provide good fuel mileage and a comfortable ride. I’ve got to figure out how to get a nice iPhone integration going on (bluetooth + controlability of iPhone from the car’s MFD) and find out if using one of the available kits out there will actually prevent me from doing the CanView installation.
So if you’re at all interested there’s some nice photos at the usual Flickr Place.. Here’s just one…

I also forgot to mention that I’m now wearing lenses again after two years of not being able to. I’m officially happy! Whoopppeeeee!
