Oh Nikki,

That does sound scary. Please call if you need someone to talk to and don’t apologize for using your journal space to express what you’re feeling.

I hope the doctor gets back to you soon so at least you’ll know what you’re worrying about. Meanwhile, take care of yourself and remember that your students, your colleagues, the dogs, and, especially, Kate know that this isn’t your fault.

If you’re not already, it might be worth pressing your GP to refer you to a neurologist sooner rather than later.

When I was looking at replacement tyres for the Prius (well, I’ll need some eventually) I found it difficult to find any in that size that *weren’t* run-flat tyres. However, my boss, who has a BMW 5-series, claims that he could definitely feel the difference between run-flats and regular tyres, so has opted to switch back to good old air-filled ones. He’s making up for not carrying a spare - the car has no space for one - by carrying a foaming sealant that’s supposed to seal the hole so you can limp to a garage to replace the tyre.

I think I’m happier carrying the spare!

*hugs* From what I see from my friend with RA, pain management is way better than it used to be. All these things are way better than they used to be.

But yes, it’s scary.
